International airlines in Angola are preparing to move to the new António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), built by the China National Aero-technology International Engineering Corporation (CAIEC). AIAAN, located in the province of Icolo and Bengo, began construction in 2013, is more than 40 kilometers north of Luanda, and was inaugurated in 2023, having cost the state coffers around 2.5 billion euros.
