Exports of goods from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macao reached a new all-time high in 2025, according to official data released on 30 January.
The value exported by Portuguese-speaking markets to the territory stood at 1.47 billion patacas, 6.4% more than in 2024, according to Macao's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). This figure was also the highest since DSEC began collecting data on foreign trade in 1998, surpassing the previous record of 1.43 billion patacas set in 2023.
Most of Macao's trade with Portuguese-speaking countries in 2025 came from Brazil, worth 1.17 billion patacas, 10.2% more than in the previous year, consisting mainly of meat, fish and seafood. Macao also purchased goods worth 290.7 million patacas from Portugal, 3.5% less than in 2024, namely clothing and accessories, meat, fish and seafood, alcoholic beverages and pharmaceutical products.
