A humanitarian mission from Macao will take children's clothing, along with school and educational supplies, to Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, with the aim of bringing ‘some comfort and encouragement to children in vulnerable situations,’ according to a statement from the initiative's promoters. The trip is part of the ‘Dress a Girl Around The World’ (DAGATW) project - Macao Section and will take place between 7 and 21 February.

To present the objectives and details of the charity action, DAGATW participated in a working meeting at the Consulate-General of Mozambique in Macao. At the meeting, the nature of the mission was explained, whose main objective is to donate clothing and school supplies to be delivered to the Central Hospital of Maputo, with a special focus on the Oncology and Paediatrics units, and to the IVERCA Association, a group of young students and tourism professionals that promotes cultural and environmental development in the country.

‘In view of the recurring scourge of extreme weather events affecting Mozambique — such as severe droughts, floods and cyclones — the initiative takes on an urgent character of concrete solidarity,’ reads the note signed by the president of the Association of Friends of Mozambique (Macao), Ângelo Rafael.
