On December 7, the fifth anniversary of the Confucius Institute at the University of Porto (U.Porto) was celebrated. Ribeirão Pires, a Brazilian city, has taken the first step towards strengthening relations with China and stimulating economic development. On December 3, the city received a visit from the secretary general of the Chinese Federation in Brazil, Youyang Jiang (Jean), and also from the founder of the Association of Young Chinese in Brazil, André Ye.

On December 2, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD announced that it will start producing its first vehicles at its Camaçari plant in Bahia in March next year. This factory will be the world's largest and most advanced electric vehicle production plant outside of China. The information was confirmed by BYD's regional CEO, Stella Li, during a meeting with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The Macau International Short Film Festival, organized by the Macau Institute of European Studies and CREATIVE MACAU – Center for Creative Industries, opened on December 3 and runs until December 10. This year's festival promises a diverse program, with more than 30 sessions that include fiction, documentaries, animations and music videos.
