China will give Guinea-Bissau US$26 million for a project to build fishing port in the capital, Bissau, Macauhub reports.
The news website, citing an agreement to this effect signed by representatives of China and Guinea-Bissau, says the plan is to spend the money on building a pontoon, drainage ditches and a water tank with a capacity of 1,000 cubic metres.
The report quotes Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Jin Hongjun as saying the project is important for the development of the fisheries industry in Guinea-Bissau.
“With the completion of this project, the fishermen of Guinea-Bissau will have better infrastructure,” Mr. Jin said.
Construction of the fishing port will begin in three months and take about two years, Macauhub says.
