Macao’s role as a platform has contributed to promoting trade and investment between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as well as business co-operation.
The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries – also known as Forum Macao – and the Macao SAR Government, take it in turns to organise an annual event called the Business People Meeting for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Governments and companies from the participating countries have acknowledged the success of the event.
The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao has also been involved in organising economic, trade and investment promotion activities in Mainland China and Macao, in order to boost Macao’s role as a service platform.
Those activities include: the Beijing Fair; the Guangzhou Fair; the China Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises International Fair; the Xiamen Fair; Dynamic Macao Week; the Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum and Exhibition (MIECF); the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF); the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF); the Summit for Trade and Industrial Development of Jiangsu Province, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries; the Roundtable Meeting between leaders of Provinces and Municipalities of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries; the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Young Entrepreneurs Forum; and Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Thematic Workshop.
