Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd Vice-president Yi Xiang has said the Chinese telecommunications company is interested in investing more in Angola, Angop reports.
The Angolan state-owned news agency says Huawei has invested US$60 million in Angola in the past 20 years and means to open an office there.
The report quotes Mr Yi as saying on the sidelines of a meeting in Beijing attended by Angolan President João Lourenço that Huawei is busy bringing fourth-generation wireless telecommunications technology to Angola.
Mr Lourenço was visiting the Huawei Beijing Research Centre.
The company offered Mr Lourenço an emergency video-communication system for his office.
During a two-day state visit to China Mr Lourenço signed several Sino-Angolan agreements, including an agreement on investment protection and promotion, Angop says.
