The Macao Special Administrative Region Government has approved Che Weng Keong to concurrently serve as the Coordinator of the Support Office of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) with effect from July 2025, succeeding the former Coordinator, U U Sang.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Cabo Verde’s independence, several Cabo Verdean officials visited Macao to participate in celebratory events. On July 3, Cabo Verde’s Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

On June 28, Maria de Fátima Manso, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Mozambique, visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) in Macao.

Appointed by the Macao SAR Government, Mr. António Lei will assume the role of Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) effective July 1, 2025, succeeding former Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Casimiro de Jesus Pinto.

The “Colloquium on Blue Economy Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and organized by the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), held its closing ceremony and certificate presentation on June 18 at the Macau Tower.

On June 17, the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) hosted the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for the “Colloquium on Infrastructure Investment and Construction between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries” at the Macau Tower.

From June 13 to 15, 2025, a delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) participated in a series of events at the 17th China (Fuzhou) International Seafood & Fisheries Expo in Fuzhou.

On June 12, Victor Coutinho, Minister of Infrastructure, Land Management, and Housing of Cabo Verde, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao).

On June 11, the 11th China–Portuguese-Speaking Countries Infrastructure Cooperation Forum, hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), with support from the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), was held at the Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao.

On June 5, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau visited the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao).

The “2025 Colloquium on Cooperation in the Tourism Sector between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries (Macao), held its closing ceremony and certificate presentation on May 2 at the Macau Tower.

On the morning of April 25, the opening ceremony of the 13th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo was held. Ji Xianzheng, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led Secretariat members to attend and visit the “Pavilion of Portuguese-speaking Countries”.
