Between 28 April and 1 May 2026, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) travelled to the city of Fuzhou, in Fujian Province, to participate in the 9th China Digital Summit. The delegation attended the opening ceremony, the main forum and the sub-forum dedicated to the digital economy, and also visited the exhibition pavilions and interactive experience areas. The visit allowed for close observation of the innovative practices of digital technologies in driving high-quality development, as well as gaining knowledge of the latest results and future prospects of Digital China.

The delegation also conducted visits to several renowned companies in the digital economy sector, namely BabyBus Co., Ltd., Fujian Star-Net Communication Co., Ltd., Quantum Cloud Code (Fujian) Technology Co., Ltd., Xinzhongguan Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd. and the Newland Technology Group. During these visits, the delegation learned about the successful practices of these companies in areas such as the development and internationalisation of children's digital content, information and communications infrastructure offerings and AI solutions, product lifecycle management based on "one code per item", innovative information technology products, as well as digital payments, intelligent perception and sensing, and sector digitalisation solutions. On these occasions, impressions were exchanged regarding co-operation opportunities in the digital economy between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
