Recently, Silk Road Week 2025 officially kicked off in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province in eastern China. With the theme “Silk intertwines the past and the present, the wheel connects the world”, the event invited Brazil as the honoured country to begin together a dialogue of civilizations that transcends space and time.

The opening ceremony was held at the National Silk Museum. The highlight was the exhibition “Miles of Blue Sky - The Silk Road on the Prairies between the 10th and 12th Centuries”, with more than 200 historical relics, including more than 60 pieces classified as first class in China.

“Brazil and China are long-standing strategic partners, committed to deepening cooperation in various areas. The cultural ties between the two countries play an important role in promoting and expanding mutual cooperation,” said Lucas Lima, deputy consul general of the Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai.
