Foton, the Chinese truck manufacturer, has opened an assembly line in Brazil. The CKD plant is located within Agrale's manufacturing complex in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, occupying an area of 6,000 square meters. Initially, the plant will assemble trucks and their components imported from China.
According to the brand, production capacity will be 5,000 units per year and, initially, the vehicles produced at the plant will be the Aumark S 315 semi-trailer (in manual and automated versions), the Aumark S 715 and S 916 light-duty trucks and the Aumark S 1217 medium-duty truck, all of which are already sold by Foton in Brazil.
Also assembled on site will be the Auman D 1277, a truck that marks Foton's entry into the semi-heavy-duty segment in Brazil, and which will start being sold by the company's Brazilian dealerships in April.
