Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$29.375 bln in January-February 2023

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$29.375 billion in the period from January to February 2023. It represented a 2.17 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$18.747 billion to China in the first two months of 2023 – an increase of 4.69 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$10.628 billion in the same period, up 1.99 percent year-on-year.


The total value of merchandise traded in February between the parties topped US$12.822 billion, an increase of 5.01 percent from the prior-year period.The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$8.725 billion, up 8.25 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$4.097 billion in February, a decrease of 1.30 percent compared with the previous year.
