Recently, with the start of the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women in Beijing, the world's attention has turned to China. Thirty years after championing the global gender equality agenda through the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the country is breathing new life into the global cause of women through tangible practices.

At the event, senior representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries praised China's fundamental role in promoting women's rights and implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The speeches highlighted cooperation and alignment of views on women's empowerment.

Mozambique's Minister of Labor, Gender, and Social Action, Ivete Alane, congratulated the Chinese government for organizing the event. “This conference demonstrates, once again, China's commitment to women's rights,” she said.
