Recently, Angola's Secretary of State for Hospitals, Leonardo Inocêncio, met in Luanda with representatives of the Chinese company Imedway Technology Co. Ltd. According to the Ministry of Health, the Chinese delegation presented a cooperation proposal for the digital transformation of the Angolan healthcare system, in line with the country's current investments in hospital infrastructure.

The proposal, according to the ministry, includes electronic patient records (PEP/EMR), hospital management systems (HIS), electronic health records for the population, chronic disease management platforms, disease control and public health systems, smart health tools, and telemedicine.

On that occasion, the Chinese company emphasized that digitization must accompany the physical construction of hospitals to ensure the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of health services. Imedway Technology also pointed out that Angola has a strategic opportunity to become a benchmark for digital innovation in health on the African continent.
