Celebrating 51 years of diplomatic friendship between the two countries, on August 16, the Forte de Copacabana Orchestra, the Rudá Institute, and the Army Historical Museum - Forte de Copacabana will promote the 51 Years of Brazil and China Festival.

The program, curated by Márcia Melchior, General Director of the Rudá Institute and President of RioMont, features a performance by the Forte Orchestra with a repertoire mixing Chinese songs, many of which will be performed in Mandarin. In addition to the Orchestra’s show, activities such as an exhibition, Chinese drumming, dragon dancing, lion dancing, and even tea demonstrations, Chinese calligraphy, and Chinese medicine will also be free to the public.

The members of the Copacabana Fort Orchestra have been venturing into Chinese culture since 2022, when they began their partnership with CNOOC, a Chinese company operating in Rio de Janeiro that now sponsors the group.
