Between the 26th of June and the 7th of July, the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), through its rector, Professor João Chrysostomo, went on an academic and scientific mission to China to strengthen academic ties between Brazil and China.

The CEO of the Brazilian mining company Renato Lira has signed a letter of intent with the Chinese group Taizhou Silese Overseas Technology Co Ltd, represented by business manager Jin Woof. The objective of the partnership is to explore ore in the Guanambi region.

“Brazil and China are two major developing nations with global impact. Both are also comprehensive strategic partners that have common interests and assume broad responsibilities on the international stage,” said Tian Min, Consul General of China in Rio de Janeiro, while opening the meeting with Brazilian journalists.

The Luachimo Hydroelectric Power Plant, in Dundo, capital of Lunda-Norte, Angola, may start full operation with the four turbines between the end of August or early September this year.
