On October 22, Mr. Wang Jinfu, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, led a delegation to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. The delegation was in Macao to participate in the 2nd China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (Macao), the 30th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair, and the Macao Franchise Expo 2025.

During the visit, Vice Governor Wang introduced the latest developments in Fujian Province and pointed out that its fishery and aquaculture industries are well-established and have achieved remarkable results in industrial development, providing continuous momentum for the marine economy. He added that Fujian has deep historical ties with Macao, which, as an important platform, boasts unique advantages that can boost its marine economy and cooperation with Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) in various fields. Vice Governor Wang expressed his hope that Fujian and the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao would establish a regular communication mechanism to develop a cooperation framework together, facilitate information exchange, help enterprises achieve industrial synergy, and promote the combination of “going global” and “bringing in” strategies.

Mr. Ji Xianzheng, Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, presented the recent key work of Forum Macao and its Permanent Secretariat. He stated that Forum Macao is committed to fostering comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and PSCs. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that further efforts could be made to strengthen the two-way flow of information between mainland China and PSCs in areas such as trade, commodities, and culture. This could be achieved through electronic and digital channels, thus jointly advancing practical exchanges and in-depth cooperation between Fujian, Macao, and PSCs.
