Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors (GWM) has expressed interest in building its second factory in Brazil in Espírito Santo, according to a statement released on 14 January by the state government.

Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, and the city of São Paulo officially established a sister city relationship after signing an agreement on 11 November 2025, during a visit by a delegation from the Wuhan municipal government to Brazil. The formalisation, announced on 11 January 2026, was presented as a step towards expanding bilateral co-operation in areas such as trade, science and technology, and education.
