China will assist in the construction of a bridge in north-eastern Brazil. Established last year, the partnership between the Chinese government and the current administration of Bahia will result in the Salvador–Itaparica bridge, which is expected to begin construction in 2026.

On 19 January 2026, Brazil's Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, met with executives from DiDi Global, the Chinese company that controls 99 in Brazil, to discuss investments in electromobility and demand advances in the safety of users and drivers of urban mobility applications, with a particular focus on the protection of women.
