The new Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ms. Ng Wai Han, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) on 25 June 2026. During the visit, the Secretary toured the facilities of the Permanent Secretariat and held cordial exchanges with members of the Secretariat from various countries.
The Secretary-General, Mr. Ji Xianzheng, welcomed Secretary Ng Wai Han and her visit to the Permanent Secretariat at the beginning of her term of office. He also expressed gratitude to the Macao SAR Government for the importance it has attached to, and the support it has provided for, the work of the Permanent Secretariat over the years. The Secretary-General stated that the Permanent Secretariat would continue to work closely with the various departments of the Macao SAR Government to further implement the Action Plan for Economic and Trade Co-operation, actively contribute to the development of Macao’s platform, and promote comprehensive and mutually beneficial co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
For her part, Secretary Ng Wai Han commended the commitment and dedication shown by members of the Permanent Secretariat over the years. She stated that the Macao SAR Government would continue to provide strong support for the work of Forum Macao, further enrich the substance of Macao’s platform, strengthen its role as a “precise connector”, and intensify communication and co-ordination with the delegates from various countries at the Permanent Secretariat, with a view to raising Sino-Lusophone co-operation to a new level and making greater contributions to serving the Country’s high-level opening-up.
