From 21 to 24 October 2026, the 31st Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (31st MIF), the 2026 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2026PLPEX), and the Macao Franchise Expo 2026 (2026MFE) are being held concurrently at Cotai Expo, The Venetian Macao.

On 21 October, Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng attended the joint opening ceremony of the three events, accompanied by all members of the Permanent Secretariat. The Secretariat set up a pavilion dedicated to the achievements of economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Using informative texts, images and economic and trade data, the exhibition presents the results and latest developments in bilateral and multilateral co-operation in areas such as trade and investment. It also highlights Forum Macao’s role as a bridge in promoting co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

During the fair, the Permanent Secretariat co-organised the Fujian–Macao–Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Trade Exchange Session and took part in the 16th Industrial and Commercial Summit between Jiangsu Province, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries. It also sent representatives to the opening ceremony of the 2nd Macao China–Portuguese-speaking Countries International Agriculture Expo 2026 and the opening of the MIF Beijing Pavilion. These activities sought to draw on the industrial strengths of provinces and cities in mainland China to strengthen economic and trade ties with Portuguese-speaking countries.

Several delegations also visited the Permanent Secretariat, including one led by Zhao Zenglian, Vice-Governor of Fujian Province, and representatives of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Portugal’s Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP). The visitors discussed new opportunities and ways to deepen economic and trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The activities were also attended by 20 officials from Portuguese-speaking countries taking part in the Colloquium on E-Commerce between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, organised by the Training Center of Forum Macao.
