The Brazilian city of Lucas do Rio Verde, in the state of Mato Grosso, recently hosted a business delegation from China’s Jiangsu Province, which was interested in learning about the local economic potential and identifying investment and co-operation opportunities. The delegation was received by Mayor Miguel Vaz, municipal officials, businesspeople and representatives of local institutions.
During the meeting, the Brazilian side presented the business environment, logistical advantages, the strength of the agricultural and livestock sector, the industrial park and the municipality’s prospects for economic expansion. The delegation also visited the industrial area to learn about the available infrastructure and the businesses operating there.
The business mission brought together representatives of companies from Jiangsu that also operate in Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. The sectors represented included prefabricated metal structures, drones, photovoltaic energy and energy storage, environmental engineering, water and effluent treatment, construction machinery, waste processing and technologies for fertiliser production.
According to municipal officials, the Chinese companies expressed interest in pursuing business opportunities in technology, waste treatment and biomass utilisation. Hao Yun, a representative of the Chinese business delegation, highlighted Lucas do Rio Verde’s urban planning and the organisation of its industrial zone, expressing confidence in the prospects for co-operation.
The initiative aimed to strengthen business relations between Brazil and China and promote future partnerships in areas including agro-industry, infrastructure, innovation, renewable energy and sustainability.
