The Brazilian financial co-operative Sicoob Credisul recently organised the Brazil-China Business Mission, which brought together Chinese businesspeople, institutional representatives, co-operatives and producers in the Brazilian states of Acre, Rondônia and Mato Grosso. The initiative aimed to showcase the region’s productive potential and promote business contacts, investment and exports between the two countries.

The programme began in Rio Branco, Acre, with a business meeting attended by representatives of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Opportunities were presented in areas including the agro-industrial sector, the bioeconomy, infrastructure, energy and the co-operative sector, followed by meetings between Brazilian and Chinese businesspeople.

The delegation also made technical visits to companies and institutions involved in agriculture, industry, healthcare and innovation. In Acre, the group visited facilities dedicated to coffee production, meat processing and exports. In Rondônia, Chinese specialists in waste treatment, wastewater treatment and water supply met local representatives. In Mato Grosso, the programme included visits related to agriculture and livestock, as well as meetings with officials and businesspeople.

A representative of the Chinese delegation highlighted the complementarity between China’s technological capabilities and Brazil’s agricultural and livestock potential. According to Sicoob Credisul, the contacts established could lead to new commercial and investment partnerships.
