The Mozambican Government intends to provide training for national entrepreneurs in order to strengthen exports of agricultural products to China, Minister of Economy Basílio Muhate announced recently after a meeting with the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), the body that brings together the country’s private sector.
According to the minister, joint work between the Government and the private sector aims to raise awareness and inform Mozambican entrepreneurs about registration procedures and participation in the process of exporting national products to the Chinese market, with a focus on soybeans, sesame and other basic agricultural products.
The initiative comes at a time when Mozambique is seeking to increase the volume and diversify the range of exports to that destination. The President of CTA, Álvaro Massingue, said that the opening of the Chinese market represents an opportunity to promote a more balanced trade relationship between Mozambique and China, calling for greater preparation among national companies.
