The Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Zheng Xuan, recently attended an exchange activity held by the Embassy of China for deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique who will participate in a seminar in China. The Spokesperson of the Assembly, Manuel Rodrigo Ramessane, the President of the Mozambique-China Parliamentary Friendship League, Sérgio Pantie, and around 20 deputies and staff members of the Assembly were present.
Ambassador Zheng said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and African countries, and that the successful State visit to China by President Daniel Francisco Chapo in April was of great significance. She noted that close exchanges between legislative bodies are an important component of bilateral co-operation between China and Mozambique, playing a vital role in deepening exchanges of experience in governance and strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. The deputies’ visit to China will carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Mozambique and contribute to building the China-Mozambique Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
The deputies unanimously expressed their willingness to make good use of the opportunity to study in China, improve their understanding of the country, strengthen co-operation between the legislative bodies of the two countries and consolidate the public foundation of friendship between the two nations.
