At a time when Mozambique is accelerating its digital transition, data security and network protection have become strategic priorities for the State. In this context, two staff members of the National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (INTIC) are participating in the Seminar on Data Security Management and Protection for Belt and Road Initiative Countries, held in Shanghai from 9 to 22 June.

The training programme, promoted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Mozambique, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the development of qualified human resources. The seminar is organised by CIFAL Shanghai, an international training centre under the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), and a reference institution in the fields of digital economy and informatisation.

The training focuses on equipping technical staff with advanced tools for e-administration and the protection of critical infrastructure. The programme addresses key topics such as network and information security, artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing. Participants are also exploring forward-looking concepts for public administrations, including smart cities, e-government, virtual reality and the metaverse.
