Macao once again asserts itself as a platform connecting China and Portuguese-speaking countries in the area of infrastructure with the holding of the 17th edition of the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum & Exhibition (IIICF), scheduled for 10 to 12 June. The event takes place under the theme "Boosting Green Digital Infrastructure Connectivity".

Since it began being held in Macao in 2012, the forum has played a relevant role in strengthening co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Over its various editions, the IIICF has brought together several ministerial-level guests from Portuguese-speaking countries and contributed to the signing of co-operation agreements valued at US$19.5 billion.

Since 2023, the IIICF has also published "The Report on Portuguese-speaking Countries' Infrastructure Development Index and Macao's Achievements in Belt and Road Initiative", considered a reference tool for identifying co-operation and investment opportunities.

According to the organisation, the overall infrastructure index of Portuguese-speaking countries has registered growth for the third consecutive year. Among the nine markets analysed, Brazil leads the ranking, while Portugal and Angola show growing demand in the energy transition and transport modernisation sectors.
