São Paulo State Legislative Assembly launches Brazil–China Friendship Group

The Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo has formally established the Brazil–China Friendship Group, within the framework of the Committee on International Relations. The initiative is coordinated by Deputy Maurici and aims to strengthen co-operation between São Paulo and China.


The launch session was attended by the Chinese Consul-General in the state, Yu Peng, and the group's action plan was presented. Among the main objectives highlighted are the deepening of institutional, academic and economic relations between the two sides.


The creation of the group comes amid a context of growing bilateral rapprochement, with China being the main trading partner of the state of São Paulo. Currently, more than 300 Chinese companies are based in the region, demonstrating the dynamism of economic relations.


The initiative also aims to drive new areas of co-operation, particularly in the fields of the green economy, technological innovation, renewable energy and cross-border e-commerce, contributing to the strengthening of the business environment and more integrated growth.
