University of Aveiro strengthens co-operation with China's Lingnan Normal University

The University of Aveiro (UA) recently received a delegation from Lingnan Normal University, located in the city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province, China, during an institutional visit that culminated in the signing of a co-operation protocol between the two institutions.


The Chinese delegation was led by Yang Aimin, Chairman of the University Administration Committee of Lingnan Normal University, and was received by the Rector of the UA, Artur Silva, accompanied by several academic and international affairs representatives from the university.


The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen institutional ties between the University of Aveiro and Lingnan Normal University, promoting new opportunities for academic and scientific collaboration between Portugal and China.


The signed protocol provides for the development of joint research projects, co-operation at doctoral level and the promotion of student, teacher and researcher mobility. The agreement also includes other academic and institutional co-operation actions in areas strategic to both universities. Among the fields identified for future collaboration are Oceanography and Marine Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Food Chemistry, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Creative Industries.
