ZTE, a Chinese telecommunications technology company, and Claro, one of Brazil’s leading telecom operators, have launched a new 4K Ultra HD IP set-top box (STB) in Brazil, as both companies seek to strengthen their presence in the country’s growing digital television and streaming market.
The new device, known as the Z4KW6, combines 4K Ultra HD image quality, voice control technology, high-speed connectivity and access to streaming content in a single platform. The launch comes amid continued expansion in Brazil’s digital entertainment sector, where demand for higher video quality and improved user experience has been increasing steadily.
According to the companies, the new-generation STB was developed to support the next phase of digital TV and streaming services in Brazil, offering improved performance and more intuitive navigation. The device also includes far-field voice control, allowing users to operate the system through voice commands without the need for direct remote interaction.
The partnership between ZTE and Claro reflects broader efforts by technology and telecoms companies to respond to changing consumer habits and the rapid growth of streaming platforms across Latin America.
