More than just trading partners, Chinese companies have been demonstrating growing interest in technologies developed in Brazil. China, known for the global diffusion of high-tech solutions, is now seeking to gain first-hand knowledge of Brazilian agricultural machinery and research linked to tropical science, while simultaneously promoting the sharing of its expertise in lower-cost components and equipment, capable of helping to reduce mechanisation costs in rural Brazil.
This movement was evident at Agrishow, held last week in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo state, where there was a significant presence of Chinese visitors. Throughout the more than 150,000 square metres of the venue, these visitors integrated into the typical fair environment, frequently using real-time translation applications to facilitate negotiations with Brazilian exhibitors.
At the country's largest agricultural fair, the Chinese presence has been gaining prominence. In the so-called "China Pavilion", participation increased by around 30%, rising from 18 to 50 companies with their own space. On-site, translators supported business interactions, while Brazilian cultural elements, such as regional products and promotional materials in Mandarin, reflected a growing rapprochement between the two markets.
