China's Minister of Finance, Lan Fo'an, announced the availability of more than 700 million yuan in the form of subsidies for the implementation of structural projects in Mozambique, adding that the priority areas will be defined by the governments of the two countries.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Mozambique's Minister of Finance, Carla Loveira, as part of the official state visit carried out last week by the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo.
During the meeting, the two parties exchanged views on bilateral financial and economic co-operation and other related matters, with the Chinese Government also confirming a donation of 200 million yuan aimed at supporting social and infrastructure development in Mozambique.
Still in China, Carla Loveira met with the President of the China International Development Co-operation Agency (CIDCA), Chen Xiaodong, with the aim of strengthening co-operation ties. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 3rd High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, held under the theme "Orientation for Action: Building a Global Development Community for All".
