The Mozambique Information Agency (AIM) has recently signed important co-operation agreements with Xinhua News Agency and China Media Group, documents which are set to strengthen its role as the leading news dissemination body in Mozambique.

The agreements were signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, to the People’s Republic of China, at a ceremony held in the presence of the Heads of State of both countries, Daniel Chapo and Xi Jinping, which highlights the political and diplomatic relevance of the initiative.

In parallel, AIM concluded a Memorandum of Understanding with China Media Group, aimed at strengthening exchanges between the main media organisations of the two countries, promoting mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the Mozambican and Chinese peoples. The document provides for, among other aspects, the exchange and joint production of content, including news reports, thematic videos and documentaries.

The partnership also paves the way for knowledge transfer, technological innovation and the strengthening of the international projection of information produced in Mozambique.
