Chinese airline Beijing Capital Airlines will launch a direct air link between Beijing and Lisbon during the summer, a seasonal operation beginning at the end of June and lasting approximately three months.
The flight will operate weekly. The outbound flight, number JD627, will depart from Beijing Daxing International Airport on Mondays at 10:55, arriving in Lisbon at 17:15 (local time). The return flight, JD628, will depart Lisbon at 18:55 (local time), arriving at Beijing Daxing at 14:00 the following day, the airline detailed to Lusa news agency.
The operation will be served by Airbus A330 aircraft, wide-bodied with two aisles, equipped with business and economy class. Currently, there are no regular direct flights between Lisbon and Beijing, with connections typically made via European or Middle Eastern hubs. Beijing Capital Airlines already operates a direct link between Lisbon and the Chinese city of Hangzhou, currently the only direct air route between Portugal and China.
