Brazil and China have the potential to lead the creation of a global green corridor focused on the energy transition and the development of sustainable technologies. This assessment was discussed during the Valor Brazil-China 2026 Summit, held in Shanghai.

According to experts, the two countries have complementary characteristics in this process. Brazil stands out for its abundance of natural resources and renewable energy, while China has the industrial and technological capacity for large-scale production.

During the event, economist Jorge Arbache stated that the decarbonisation of the global economy creates an opportunity for the two nations to assume a leadership role in a business agenda estimated at between 100 and 280 billion by 2050.

Co-operation involves areas such as critical minerals, renewable energy and the low-carbon industry. Companies are already developing initiatives in this field, such as the Brazilian Metallurgy and Mining Company, which is investing in ferroniobium alloys to reduce emissions in steelmaking, and Hexing Electrical, which operates in a consolidated manner in the Brazilian market for smart energy meters, driving digital transformation and increasing energy management efficiency.
