The Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Mr Yang Renhuo, recently visited the Bafatá Region and attended the launch ceremony for the school building rehabilitation project at the China-Guinea-Bissau Friendship School in Bafatá, in the east of the country. The ceremony was attended by the Regional Governor, Mr Mustafá Soares Cassamá, the Director of the China-Guinea-Bissau Friendship School in Bafatá, Mr Infamara Nanque, as well as teachers, students and parents’ representatives.
Ambassador Yang emphasised that China has always attached great importance to exchanges and co-operation with Guinea-Bissau in the field of education. The school building rehabilitation project, funded by the Chinese Embassy, aims to improve teaching conditions and provide better support for the growth and development of students. He expressed his hope that students would study diligently and contribute their intelligence and talents to the development of Guinea-Bissau, while also gaining a deeper understanding of China and Chinese culture, and becoming inheritors and promoters of China-Guinea-Bissau friendship.
The Governor and the School Director expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for its valuable assistance in improving the school’s teaching conditions. They noted that the China-Guinea-Bissau Friendship School stands as a testament to the deep friendship between the two peoples and will nurture more young ambassadors who will carry forward and strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries in the future.
