Investments by Chinese automotive manufacturers in Brazil, whether independently or in partnership with local companies, are expected to result in the creation of ten production lines for nine Chinese brands, which by 2030 will have an installed capacity to assemble more than one million vehicles per year.

This projection was prepared by a major industry supplier that already collaborates with these manufacturers in China and is preparing to supply components and systems in Brazil as well. According to estimates, Chinese manufacturers and their local partners are expected to invest approximately US$7.4 billion in their Brazilian operations, equivalent to one third of the US$22 billion that all automakers established in Brazil plan to invest by the end of the decade.

However, the amounts could be even higher, as the figures do not include certain investments that are part of broader programmes, such as those of Leapmotor with Stellantis, Caoa with Changan, and Comexport for the production of GM/SAIC models. Potential investments by companies that have yet to decide whether to produce locally or operate solely through imports are also not included.
