Huawei Launches Initiative in Angola to Train Information and Communication Technology Specialists

Huawei Angola has recently announced that applications are open for the 2026 National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Talent Development Plan, aimed at training a new generation of domestic specialists in strategic areas of the digital economy.


According to a statement sent to Jornal de Angola, this initiative is being developed in partnership with Angola's Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2022. To date, more than 7,600 Angolans have already benefited from the programme, with the objective now being to reach 15,000 specialists by 2027. Applications are open to university students, ICT sector professionals and civil servants seeking to deepen their knowledge through a specialised and free training programme.


The programme will run from 16 March to 21 September 2026 in a hybrid format, featuring in-person sessions at Huawei's Technology Park in Talatona, Luanda, alongside virtual components. Available specialisation areas include Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Datacom, Cybersecurity and Big Data, among other technological certifications.
