Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$225.789 billion in the period from January to December 2025. It represented a 0.27 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$137.691 billion – a decrease of 1.44 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$88.098 billion in the same period, an increase of 3.06 percent year-on-year.
The total value of merchandise traded in December between the parties topped US$20.567 billion, an increase of 23.95 percent from the prior-year period. The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$12.931 billion, up 31.31 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$7.637 billion in December, an increase of 13.21 percent compared with the previous year.
