World university sport begins 2026 with its eyes on Asia. Between 29 and 31 January, the city of Changchun, China, will host the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) of the year.

Representing Brazil at the meeting will be Luciano Cabral, First Vice-President of FISU, and Alim Maluf Neto, elected President of the Brazilian University Sports Confederation (CBDU) for the current term. The presence of the Brazilian leadership on Chinese soil is strategic: in addition to discussing the international calendar, the group will strengthen ties for the sector's upcoming major challenges.

The meeting also serves to consolidate the co-operation agreement between the CBDU and the Chinese Student Sports Federation (CSSF). Recently, the two entities have expanded technical and cultural exchanges, promoting football clinics and academic activities that benefit student-athletes from both countries.
