Angolan Minister of Health in China to strengthen co-operation in the health sector

Angolan Minister of Health Sílvia Lutucuta began a working visit to the People's Republic of China on 19 January, which will run until 27 January, with a view to strengthening bilateral co-operation.


The visit aims to strengthen co-operation in the health sector, with a particular focus on the verification and certification of medical equipment, training of national staff and modernisation of hospital infrastructure.


Upon arrival in Beijing, Sílvia Lutucuta was welcomed by Angola's ambassador to China, Dalva Ringote. Sílvia Lutucuta presented the main objectives of the trip, which include institutional and technical meetings, visits to leading hospitals, medical equipment factories and meetings with specialised companies.


Among the priorities are the analysis, assessment and certification of the manufacture of medical equipment for the construction, rehabilitation and equipping of the Américo Boavida Hospital in Luanda, as well as the strengthening of the continuous training of Angolan health professionals.
