With CRRC locomotives arriving in Santos, TIC Eixo Norte is modernising Line 7 Rubi and preparing the Intercity Train and Intermetropolitan Train between São Paulo, Campinas and Jundiaí.

With a portfolio that makes it the largest manufacturer of railway equipment in the world, CRRC has just taken a concrete step in Brazil: the first locomotives and carriages from CRRC arrive in Santos to be used in the modernisation of the São Paulo railway network. The railway vehicles will operate directly in TIC Eixo Norte.

With the arrival of this first batch on the São Paulo coast, the partnership between the Chinese market and the state of São Paulo is no longer just an announcement but something visible on the railways. The arrival of CRRC equipment in Santos symbolises the attempt to bring the latest in railway technology to Brazil, linking Chinese experience with the growing demand for passenger and freight transport in corridors such as São Paulo, Campinas and Jundiaí.
