The Port of Santos, in São Paulo, recorded its highest cargo throughput ever in 2025: 186.4 million tonnes, an increase of 3.6% over the previous record, set in 2024, of 179.8 million tonnes.
Export shipments totalled 137.4 million tonnes for the year, an increase of 4.6%. Imports remained stable, with an increase of 1%, totalling 49 million tonnes.
The Port of Santos' share of Brazilian trade also grew. In 2025, the complex accounted for 29.6% of all Brazil's foreign trade transactions, considering the value in US$ FOB. In 2024, its share was 29%.
China remains the main trading partner, being the destination or origin of 29.6% of transactions. The flow of ships also followed the growth in traffic. In 2025, 5,700 vessels docked at the Port of Santos, an increase of 2.7% compared to 2024.
