On 22 December, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the University of Madeira and the University of São José in Macau, with the aim of strengthening academic and scientific co-operation between the two institutions.
In a note released on 16 January, the higher education institution reported that the ceremony took place at the UMa Rectory and was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of USJ, Carlos Sena Caires; the Rector of UMa, José Sílvio Moreira Fernandes, and the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Internationalisation, José Câmara.
According to the same note, student and teacher mobility programmes, the development of joint research projects and the co-supervision of doctoral theses, among other forms of academic collaboration, are planned.
