On 9 January, the National Police received equipment donated by the Chinese Embassy in Cape Verde for the Foreigners and Borders Directorate and the National Training Centre, strengthening operations and training, according to the Cape Verde Ministry of Internal Administration.
The delivery took place at the National Stadium during the 14th training course for 2nd Class Officers, highlighting the importance of support in the process of modernising and improving the efficiency of police services.
The Chinese ambassador to Cape Verde, Zhang Yiang, emphasised the importance of bilateral co-operation, stating that the donation reinforces his country's commitment to Cape Verde's institutional development. ‘This gesture symbolises the friendship and ongoing collaboration between our countries, supporting the training of Cape Verdean security forces,’ he said.
The Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, thanked the initiative, reinforcing the positive impact that the equipment will have on the functioning of institutions and the pursuit of the strategic objectives of the National Police.
