Brazil ended 2025 with the highest volume of soybean exports in its history, according to figures released by the National Association of Grain Exporters (ANEC) on 7 January 2026. Shipments totalled 108.7 million tonnes, an increase of 11.75% compared to 2024 (97.295 million tonnes), consolidating the performance as a new milestone in the country's foreign trade for oilseeds.
China remained, by a wide margin, the main destination for Brazilian soybeans. According to the data cited in the report, 87.1 million tonnes — about 80% of the total exported in 2025 — were destined for the Chinese market.
For 2026, ANEC indicates that, if current conditions persist, Brazilian soybean shipments could reach 110 million tonnes. The projected level suggests a continuation of an upward cycle, but also increases attention on the factors that determine the realisation of this trend, such as logistical competitiveness, demand from the main destinations, and the maintenance of trade flows over the quarters — especially in a scenario where China remains central to Brazil's aggregate result.
