Of the 2.28 million passenger cars and light commercial vehicles sold in Brazil from January to November, according to the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), 5.2% are from the 10 brands affiliated with the Brazilian Association of Importers and Manufacturers of Motor Vehicles (Abeifa). Over eleven months, 119,826 cars were registered, an increase of 30% compared to the same period in 2024.
Although official figures are not yet available, the association expects to “easily exceed” the estimated 130,000 registrations for 2025. If confirmed, the figure will be 24.1% higher than that recorded in 2024.
The organization's president, Marcelo Godoy, who also serves as CEO of Volvo Car Brazil, said that one of the pillars of growth is the strength of the Chinese market in electric cars. According to Godoy, this year alone, nine Chinese automakers have arrived in Brazil.
