Brazil could become an important alternative for China in the supply of crude oil. According to Jean Paul Prates, former president of Petrobras, the country has competitive advantages that make it a more stable partner on the international stage. Among the factors cited are the quality of Brazilian oil, the expansion of pre-salt production, and institutional stability, which differentiate it from other countries.
In an interview with the Agora CNN program, Prates noted that Brazil does not yet face economic or political restrictions that could limit oil exports, which positions it as a “backup” supplier for China.
Experts point out that, in addition to Brazil's advantages, trade dynamics may be influenced by relations between major powers, impacting oil flows and trade negotiations in the coming years.
