Recently, the Auditorium of the Rectory of the University of Coimbra (UC) hosted the 1st edition of the Sino-Lusophone Congress on Comparative Law, organized in partnership by the Sino-Lusophone Academy of UC (ASL-UC) and the Brazilian Academy of Civil Law (ABDC), with the support of the Notorium Group.

Given current events, “Artificial Intelligence, Fundamental Rights, and Ethical Limits” is the theme of the congress, which brings together academics, lawyers, students, and experts from Brazil, Portugal, China, and Portuguese-speaking African countries.

During the opening session, the Director of the UC Faculty of Law, Pedro Costa Gonçalves, said that it is “a pleasure and an honor to host this first congress,” which is, in fact, “yet another” because the three entities involved have held “countless important intercontinental colloquiums and congresses in the field of Civil Law.”
