Chinese Ambassador to Cape Verde Zhang Yang recently met with Cape Verde's Minister of Internal Affairs Paulo Augusto Costa Rocha.

Zhang Yang stated that in recent years, mutual political trust between China and Cape Verde has deepened and cooperation between the two countries has achieved fruitful results. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cape Verdean side to continuously deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields and promote the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Minister Paulo Rocha highly praised the important results achieved over the 49 years of diplomatic relations between Cape Verde and China, thanked China for its support, and fully recognized the important contribution of Chinese institutions and the Chinese community in Cape Verde to the national progress and social development of Cape Verde. He also stressed that Cape Verde will continue to firmly protect the safety and legitimate rights of Chinese personnel and institutions in Cape Verdean territory.
